Handy Tool: Doodle

Does this happen to you? You need to schedule a meeting with a few people, none of who share a calendar with you, and ten emails later you still don’t have a time slot that works for everyone? Perhaps you find a time but now you have to decide where to meet?

Here comes Doodle to the rescue! Doodle isn’t a new service but it’s handy. Recently, my friend, Aaron Houssian (IU Informatics) turned me on to the site and it’s already…

Magicians and Jugglers: Why Education is an Important Part of Marketing

Web 2.0, Second Life, blogs, wikis, APIs, social networks, SEO, SEM, SMS, widgets, microblogs…if you find any of these confusing or think that if you hear another geeky-acronym that your head will explode know that you’re not alone. For those of us in the tech industry this is all shop talk. It’s easy for someone like me, an expert on emerging technologies and an uber-nerd, to think that everyone knows what all of these technologies are. But the bottom line is that the great majority of folks…

Hi Sarah, I watched a vodcast of your presentation at Educause (I think) a couple of months ago and really enjoyed it. I just joined Smaller Indiana and saw you were here!

Hey Sarah, great work on Friday! I can see why MediaSauce snatched you up. You really helped me see and understand social networks in a new light. Did you happen to catch the column on social networks in the March issue of Fast Company? It's a weak counterpoint to pretty much everything you talked about.

Hiya - stumbled on your page and I think it's cool you're working on a dissertation on virtual worlds. I not only met my husband on a MUD back in '94, I learned more about computers/coding from people I hung out with in the virtual world than I did at my job. At the time I knew some folks who were working on a text-based virtual environment for business interaction, but they were having a hard time selling it. Ahead of their time, I guess.
