Handy Tool: Doodle

Does this happen to you? You need to schedule a meeting with a few people, none of who share a calendar with you, and ten emails later you still don’t have a time slot that works for everyone? Perhaps you find
a time but now you have to decide where to meet?

Here comes Doodle to the rescue! Doodle isn’t a new service but it’s handy. Recently, my friend, Aaron Houssian (IU Informatics) turned me on to the site and
it’s already

Magicians and Jugglers: Why Education is an Important Part of Marketing

Web 2.0, Second Life, blogs, wikis, APIs, social networks, SEO, SEM, SMS, widgets, microblogs…if you find any of these confusing or think that if you hear another geeky-acronym that your head will explode know
that you’re not alone. For those of us in the tech industry this is all
shop talk. It’s easy for someone like me, an expert on emerging
technologies and an uber-nerd, to think that everyone knows what all of
these technologies are. But the bottom line is that the great majority

Hello, I am new to Smaller Indiana and thought I would reach out to connect and say hello. My name is Brandon and I am the Director for Musical Medicine. We build music libraries for hospitals.

Are you planning on attending the Chocolate Blues and Business Networking Festival next Thursday? I hear it's going to be huge, they expect about 1,500 people to attend. It should be a great networking day! I have free tickets, if you need a ticket, let me know and I'll email you one. If you want more details about it, it's listed under events on the 26th.

Have a good day and I look forward to networking with you. Please let me know if I can ever do anything for you,
Brandon

Great job with your presentation at blogINDIANA on Saturday, Sarah! And thanks for your tip about reaching out to our members via the Blue House Blog — if there's one thing I learned this weekend at the conference, it's that trepidation and communication don't go hand in hand!

Hi Sarah, I watched a vodcast of your presentation at Educause (I think) a couple of months ago and really enjoyed it. I just joined Smaller Indiana and saw you were here!

Hey Sarah, great work on Friday! I can see why MediaSauce snatched you up. You really helped me see and understand social networks in a new light. Did you happen to catch the column on social networks in the March issue of Fast Company? It's a weak counterpoint to pretty much everything you talked about.

A few things to consider before joining Smaller Indiana:

1. We want to know the real you...Please use your real name (first and last) when you sign up, or we cannot open your account

2. We want to know the real you...Please do NOT use your Smaller Indiana blog for blatant self promotion

3. We want to see your smiling face...Please do not use logos or commercial images for your profile photo

5. Please do NOT post commercial video (demo reels), or Corporate Website promotions in your blog
