Social Media and Self-Proclamation? My Goal is to Make a Positive Difference. What About You?

Social media has given all of us that perceived 15 minutes of fame, sometimes every day depending on how many people commented, liked or shared something you have said. We feel mighty important, and this recent blog postby one of my favorite bloggers,…See More

Are You a Hunter or a Farmer…When It Comes to Selling? Part Two

Last blog, I discussed a bit of history about the whole hunter/farmer analogy. I can tell you, the whole hunter mentality I see alive and well in many entrepreneurs I meet. Are they ADHD/ADD? Many of my entrepreneur friends may not have been diagnosed with it, but they do joke about it!So, let’s dive into what I view as the definitions and some pros and cons of each – now remember, these are my definitions:Hunter – someone who is engaged in new business development – finding opportunities to…See More

Are You a Hunter or a Farmer…When It Comes to Selling? Part One – Some History

I can too easily answer that question for myself – I’m a farmer, but then again, I am in the business of relationship marketing and a social worker at heart, so it makes sense. First off, let’s cover a little history.Let’s go way back -  when we were nomadic people, yes, years back, like 10,000 years ago – and we were definitely by far hunters – finding our dinner, killing our dinner and moving on when the dinner had been depleted. Then we started to cultivate a bit more – agriculture started…See More

Three More Grammatical Tips to Keep You From Losing Credibility

Last month, I discussed some common grammatical errors, and it seemed I hit a bit of a nerve that those mistakes were pet peeves for many. Here’s a few more tips - these errors probably would not keep readers from subscribing to your blog or detract too badly from your credibility, but you never know.1. Who vs. Whom – using “who or “whom” depends on whether you’re referring to…See More

At Least Two Sides to Every Story

Recently, I have been reminded to really look at all sides before passing judgment or jumping on the bandwagon. I mean, come on, I know better. I learned as a fairly young person not to just take what one person or one story says and think it’s the whole truth. Plus, is there such thing as the whole truth because we cannot help but put our own judgment and perceptions into the mix. It’s just human nature.Take for example two recent media stories – both emotionally charged and having people make…See More

Do Your Word Choices Wreck Your Credibility?

Even in this fast-paced, acronym life we live in, we still judge people by their written word, and spell check doesn’t catch everything. Thinking about blogging or writing web copy? Some people will not subscribe to a blog or not give a website a second glance if there are grammatical errors. Here are four common errors that can detract from your credibility:Your vs. You’re – “your” is a possessive pronoun, as in “your book” or “your business.” “You’re is a contraction for “you are.”It’s vs.…See More

Hi Serina,

I saw that you were on the Business Roundtable Network (BRN) discussion in Smaller Indiana. We have our biggest event in our short history (Jan. 2009 until now) coming up next week. If ever there was a time to get involved with BRN now would be the time. We provide the support and exchange of expertise needed in this economy. We need a core of people (50) who are truly committed to helping each other get through this economy and thrive.

It would be great to have you as a part of that.

Hope to see you next Thursday. See details below.

Thursday, April 30th

4:30 pm to 6:30 pm

At Conquest Racing Headquarters

Get additional information and register in advance by going to our website: www.brncommunity.com

We need you to register because food is being provided by oyster bar and grill – excellent!

We need numbers so we get the right amount of food!

So register now for this FREE event.

I hope to see you there.

I just saw you left a comment. I'm still getting familiar with this Smaller Indiana website. I plan on attending the Rainmaker event tomorrow. However, there is a slight possibility that I might not be there. If I can I would definately like to meet you after the Rainmakers event. Now I look at your picture more, didn't you win an award at the Rainmaker's event at Ritz Charles?

Sounds interesting. I agree it seems that we are targeting the same customers. Payroll is definately one of those tasks that should be outsourced so the business owener can concentrate on growing their business. In addition, companies can be fined at the end of the year if they don't they don't process payroll correctly. When this service is outsourced that liability becomes apart of our responsibility. Maybe we could get together soon for lunch or coffee and talk about possible referrals between our two companies.

Likewise!!! Thanks for the friend request. Timeplus Payroll is the fourth largest payroll provider in the United States and I'm currently working on growing the Indianapolis, IN service Center. My best referells are CPA, bookeepers, & commercial bankers. In addition, any business that has 1-250 employees is a potential customer. Tell me a little bit about your business and what you offer.
