If this is not a demographically skewed primary, I don't know what is

I woke up this morning to this map at CNN's website:

Lake, St. Joseph, Elkart, Allen, Tippecanoe, Hamilton, Boone, Hamilton, Marion, and Monroe counties were won by Obama and the rest were won by Clinton. Not much of a surprise. Also, does anyone have any "Operation… Continue

BlogIN conference planning underway

Members of SmIN met in person and by phone on this Saturday morning to establish the foundation for a conference this coming spring. We discussed the focus and outlined a structure for this event. In order to meet the wide diversity of interest and familiarity with blogging (and online social communities), it will be a hybrid conference--with both structure and unstructured platforms. We laugh, we cried, we proposed public relations and marketing starting points. Those that gathered this mornin… Continue

Practical and entertaining speakers feed off the audience on Pecha Kucha night

This past Friday night, greater than 65 people crammed in for standing room only presentations in the newly created Pecha Kucha format. Succinctly, it's PowerPoint with rules on the number of slides and their speed of progression. The theme for the night was loosely centered on architecture. From the introduction, one could tell that the organizers wanted to be on the avant garde map of global cities that have hosted Pecha Kucha nights.

After the organizers thanked all those involved a… Continue

Yeah, I do spell my name the right way. Sometimes people have trouble pronouncing it the right way though. =/

You're right. I haven't heard of MB2, but that's a pretty cool Flash site they've got going on there. I recently saw a couple of websites with the same effects, but using Javascript only. Pretty nifty.

Rarebird, Inc is up on the northside in Nora. Pretty small company, but we take on quite a lot.

Saw your comment about the Blog Indiana tracks not really fitting. I would be interested in listening to you describe what you meant and how you think it could be improved. I'd like to improve on this year as much as possible!

Steven, how is the house? I remember a few weeks back you were asking questions about becoming a homeowner. Have you moved in yet? Are you getting accustomed to being a homeowner? I hope all is well with you.

Thanks for your suggestions. My site still has a few bugs that I'm working on, so I'll add that to my list. I don't know if you ever experience this, but sometimes you just can't wait to get your stuff up online!

Stephen, I've got a really cool idea for a front page of my website that is basically all flash. Can I tell you about it to see if it's even possible to do and how much it'd cost me to get something like that designed?

Thanks, Stephen. Yeah, PHP is on my personal training agenda. So far I've only done mods on a few templates out there. I'll have a look at the resources you mention. Sometimes the Google approach works great and sometimes I spend too much time reading content that is way over my head or just doesn't apply. Ciao, Dan

Hi Stephen, I bopped over to smjdesign.com and really like the work you are doing. I'd like to get into skinning WP for clients who want a user-friendly CMS. Do you know of any good books? I've only seen one at Borders that seems like it might be helpful... http://www.amazon.com/WordPress-Complete-customize-market-your/dp/1904811892/ref=pd_bbs_sr_2?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1208273984&sr=1-2

Please let me know if you know about this one or others.
Thanks,
Dan
