Is it OK to be persuasive?

I was talking to a friend this weekend. She has a degree in marketing and is looking for a new job.

With this in mind, we were talking about convincing people to act in a specific way. She mentioned about how much she hates to be manipulated. I do too. In fact, If I feel that someone is intentionally trying to make me do something, I may do exactly the opposite. (The fancy term for this is "reactance.")
