Thanks for sharing, Aaron. What has stood out to me in the past is how emotion is something we need to embrace more often. People in the church (and everywhere) are often afraid or even against allowing emotions, fearing that they will distort rea...

Hey, Aaron - I just realized I need to delete the Imagining Creation group we posted for Spirit & Place last fall. There are 19 members, one of whom just joined a couple weeks ago. I let her know this group and conversations culminated in our November 9th panel discussion. Do you need any info from this group before I delete it? Is there any reason to save it? Let me know. I hope you are doing well!

Hello Aaron:

My name is Shelly and I produce a giant business to business networking event across the Midwest. The event is called The Chocolate Blues and Business Festival and we are going to be in Indy next month. I would like to extend an invitation to you to attend the event. I am happy to send you a complimentary VIP pass so you can get it free. We expect no less than 1,500 local professionals to attend. We've been producing this event for 6 years and every city we go to we draw huge crowds and have rave reviews. If you would like a complimentary pass or vendor information, please check out my website or drop me a note. Thank you and I wish you great success! P.S. If I can ever be a resource for you, please do not hesitate to call upon me.

Hey Aaron, what is the deal with Jockamo's? Leah and I went on Friday night, and they barely put 5 pieces of pepperoni on our pizza, which was as thin as a paper plate!

Entering Into Pain

One of my most painful situations in my entire life started with a phone call 10 years ago. A phone call from my wife that our weekend plans had changed and we needed to head to the hospital immediately to see my father. Though I had no clue what was going on, because of the eerie nature of the ride I knew it was significant. When I arrived in the hospital room, father told me he had found out his kidneys and liver were shutting down. Just a couple months prior he passed a full medical scan yet… Continue

Rich Young Rulers

In the middle of the Social Justice series for Indy Metro, this past week I engaged the passage of Mark 10:17-31. Actually this story about Jesus and a good outwardly moral, religious person engaged me first. I couldn’t seem to avoid it over the past month.

A couple of the takeaways for me from this man’s encounter with Jesus we’re:
Those so often Christian acts of justice and compassion end up mod… Continue

Who is your audience?

This exploration of fear continues in Genesis 3. In Genesis 3:1-7, Adam & Eve rejected a perfect creation, absent of fear, and chose their own path instead… what is commonly called the original sin. As one author states, “In the most significant rebellious act ever committed, man and woman stepped outside of God’s ordained original plan.”

With the introduction of fear came our constant tension of who do we live for?

Let’s look at this exchange between Satan and Adam/Eve- Genesis 3:4… Continue

The Source of Fear

According to the Bible, the original fear is tied directly to the original sin. Yes, that “S” word. According to Merriam-Webster, sin is an offense against religious OR moral law. Though this post isn’t really about sin, but as you will see it’s hard to ignore as we search together into how we morphed into our current fear driven culture and people.

Continuing from my first post on fear, we see in Genesis 3:1-7, Adam and Eve rejected a perfect creation, absent of fear, and chose their own path… Continue
