Keeping a client year after year requires attaining customer loyalty which involves fitting together several pieces of a relationship puzzle. There is a science to understanding client loyalty. This includes recognizing the value of loyal clients, and creating and maintaining those loyal clients.
Research surveys have held the position that customers who were satisfied were more likely to remain…

Harvey Mackay, owner of Mackay Envelope, is widely known for his books and speaking engagements on sales. In his weekly column, he recalls the Broadway musical "My Fair Lady" to make a point:
In the Broadway musical "My Fair Lady," Professor Higgins has driven his prodigy Eliza Doolittle to exhaustion teaching her how to speak proper English. The professor shows little acknowledgement of her hard work, even when her pronunciation improves markedly. Later in the play, Eliza is again f

Okay, on a more personal note, my 14 year old son was “going out with” a girl – which really meant for them they would eat lunch together, go to each other’s meets or games, and maybe attend a school function or get-together at the same time. Their whole communication seemed to be texting, and they broke up this week-end – by text!
Now maybe I’m just an old fashioned mom, but it seems to me our kids are really losing the ability to communicate. I know for myself, I can read things so much more…

Most of the time when people call me for a sign need, there seems to be some sense of urgency, which is great. There really is nothing wrong with that. Often though, being in a hurry can lead to miscommunication. Miscommunication can lead to mistakes, and personally, I strive to make my clients extremely happy with the results they receive from
Redirections Sign and Design. I want to go over a few things that can make the process easier so m…

Earlier today, I got into an argument with my wife.
Imagine that.
After I had cooled down a bit, I prepared to go back and rationalize all of the reasons why she was wrong and I was right.
We sat down and she informed me that before we discussed our disagreement she wanted to remind me why she was upset.
I had done a bad job of managing her expectations.
Now, I don’t want to give the impression that my wife is always right but… I quickly realized that I was wrong in this instance.
My wife…

At the end of the classic movie, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Willy Wonka gives his entire factory to young Charlie Bucket after Charlie returns the valuable Everlasting Gobstopper candy he received during the factory tour rather than selling it to a rival candy maker. “So shines a good deed in a weary world,” Wonka whispers after Charlie’s selfless gesture.
The common courtesy you display probably won’t earn you a chocolate factory, but it will distinguish you as one of the few job c…

How is your 60 second introduction? Are you using words and phrases that will connect you with the people you are meeting with everyday?
For example if you are an IT professional, what are you saying that will help the people you are networking with and meeting with understand exactly who you are and what you do?
Does your introduction sound like this?
“Hello, my name is David, and I work for XYZ IT Solutions, and I am a developer.”
That introduction is not very memorable, is it? Why don’t yo…

Remember: when selling by phone, 84% of the message is conveyed by the quality of the voice and the intelligibility of the speech. Pitch, tone, inflection, and pronunciation matter!
The customer uses “Credibility Detectors”. These sensors in the brain are activated by tone of voice and body language; not words. They give us important information about the speaker’s sincerity, integrity, and emotional intelligence (EQ). Some people equate this to the “gut-level hunch” we often sense.
HOW you sa…

As if it isn’t enough that soldiers risk their lives from our country, they also risk their marriages due to long separations and the stress that accompanies active military service. I’ve had requests from some service members for tips on keeping the home fires burning, as well as how to effectively reunite the family after a tour of duty. Thankfully, two in-depth interviews with exemplary military families helped shed some light on this topic. Any families enduring a long separation could use s…

I’ve been living in the same house for a decade now, and I love it. The back yard slopes down into a pond (okay, an architect friend of mine calls it a water feature but to me it is now and always will be a pond); we are blessed with a plethora of wild critters who live in and ramble through our neighborhood; and the neighbors are nice and quiet. Well, most of the neighbors.
A few years ago, Mr. Firecracker bought the house two doors down and fireworks that were once blessedly far away were now…

What are your goals? If you are like most people, you initially think of your personal goals—work, hobbies, spiritual, etc. A few people view themselves first as a part of a family or couple, so they initially think about things they want to do with their spouse/family. While of course married men and women should maintain individuality, there are some particular times in life when it is especially important to view yourself as part of a team, rather than as an individual goal-seeker. Read about…

Just wondering. I found this great blog and this post really struck a chord. How many people go to work to be one person and are really someone else outside of work? Moreover, how many times do we see others that way?
I have to admit that I do go to work in Drag sometimes, but I will be more committed to putting the 'business drag' away and just be me no matter what.

As a pastor, I am constantly asking people to take a step of Action. It's my responsibility to encourage, challenge, and help articulate the step of faith God is asking individuals to take. It's part of being a leader.
I recently came across an obvious point that I was missing out on. I was reading "…

It’s only natural in these difficult times that we try to kill two or three or four birds with one stone. Sounds like a great idea, Right? I could be wrong, but I do not believe the economic slump is to blame. We all want to be everything to everyone, or expect our employees to juggle a lot of responsibilities. It is not uncommon, and what seems to be much more common is the outcome. Frustration, anxiety, stress!!! Oh no, how do I make it stop? May I share an example?
Imagine you are in a the…
