Clever Viral Advertisement Campaigns

IMG00028 I saw this outdoor advertisement in the parking lot of Robert's Camera, Downtown Indianapolis several days ago and thought it was funny. I did not think too much about it but yesterday I took a photo with my Blackberry and decided to dig into it a little bit. It did not take me too long to get the backst… Continue

Legitimate anger or misguided nationalism?

Looks like the economy is finally takings its toll. I saw one sign of it yesterday at a local gas station on 62nd Street (Broad Ripple Ave.). Someone pasted stickers on the pumps with what seemed to be some kind of a nationalistic statement. It looked like the gas station operator/owner made an unsuccessful attempt to remove them.… Continue

Don't Fees me Bro - The Pre-Paid Debit Card Scam!

prepaid_visa_cards_2This is not a photography related post but I thought people should know about this new bank scam. My wife purchased Contact Lenses recently and they came with a $30 mail-in-rebate offer. Like many customers I went ahead and filled out a relatively simple form and received the $30 w… Continue

IndyFringe Blog : Love me Tender

I had my show times mixed up and instead of seeing "A Cynic Tells Love Stories" I ended up watching Randy Strand belt out sappy love songs - couldn't have imagined a better irony. Accompanied by pianist and harp guitarist Brad Hoyt and guitarist Cutler Armstrong, Randy dished out po… Continue

55 Minutes of Sex, Drugs, and Audience Participation

To be honest I did not know what to expect when I walked into the Theater last night to see 55 Minutes of Sex, Drugs, and Audience Participation. When I offered up this play to a friend and his fiance he wrote me back saying that it was a bit edgy for their liking. I think they missed out on a really entertaining 55 minutes. No topic was off the table and the audience was on the edge not knowing who will be struck with the big jar of 20 "naughty" topics when the Jeopardy jingle ended. The play o… Continue

Old film (analogue) cameras are still cool with kids and the old!

What's that button for? This past week something interesting happened to me. On three different occasions, I had three different encounters with strangers that wanted to talk to me about my cameras and my technique. The first time this happened was right here in… Continue

Life in Kodachrome

Several months ago driving down Kesler Blvd. we noticed a garage sale. On an impulse we pulled over to see what was available. The folks running the yard sale were getting rid of several items that belonged to their parents. Included in those items were a box of Kodachrome slides dating back to 1950… Continue

Same object different perspective....

I love photography - I find it therapeutic. I give myself interesting projects to see what I can come with. My project this time around was to see if I can create something different using Robert Indiana's Numbers at the IMA. Instead of focusing on the numbers I tried to focus on the lines, curves, shapes, etc. Here is the result - tell me what you think. Continue

Bernstein’s Workroom Will Head to Indiana

There was a discussion on Smaller Indiana recently about Indianapolis and several comments were about how Mid-Westerners don't brag. I think we should brag and let the world know that there is more than corn, racing, and basketball in this state. How many of you know that the IU - Blo… Continue
