While waiting for the doors to the show to open, I read the flyer given to me – True Identity is presented by Firefall Dance Theatre and the creator and choreographer of this performance is Stephanie Riner. The dancers in this performance included Magdalena Olesiak, Julia Richards, Jennifer Shoreman, Lydia Wathen, Cami Zook, Jenny Braun, Terri Cupp and Andrea Eberhart.
As we filed into the hall, we got stamped on our hand with a bar code that had the word “Priceless” at the bottom of it. The sh… Continue

I was somewhat early and so browsed a visual fringe art gallery to pass time. Here’s 3 pictures that caught my interest. I like the one called “Continental Drift” by Stephen H Parsons – interesting picture of contrasting images of Mt Rushmore in the background and a church steeple in the middle ground ending with woman reading a book in a bathtub in the foreground.
"Kendo Triptych" by Nicholai Shaver - Acrylic and Enamel… Continue

On my way to find parking at the concrete parking lot behind the church, I came across performers on their way to wherever they were suppose to go..love those segway scooters but I see the wind is alittle in the way for the poster to stay straight!
I was downtown and decided to go pick up the IndyFringe Passes and backer buttons. Road construction made it a little hard to find parking but I managed to get a free spot with no parking meters – thinking I’d be in and out in a very short while. Instead I ended up seeing a little of a rehearsal movement, speaking with Pauline Moffat and getting the passes from her and meeting a young lady who’s helping out there and is interested to blog a few shows for Smaller Indiana. I have since wrote to Er… Continue
Haven't been to the State Fair in years! So it was beautiful Sat day out there. My fav by far is the cockroach racing event. Also learnt some very interesting facts about roaches.
In addition, I was delighted to find out that bacon and chocolate pairing is gaining ground..they have it at the state fair!!!

In about a year apart, our backgarden experienced its second flooding. Happened to look out to the garden below and saw the big pool of water where the creek had now turned into a small raging river. Last year around June we had our very first flooded backyard and at that time, the water level was much higher and totally submerged the garden where one can't see the fences or the door into the garden. We heard alot of sad stories about the floods last year and I can't help but worry that what dam… Continue

For want of something new, hubby and I decided to go to FairOaks Farm, some 2 hours north from home. First thing that caught my eye-lots of kids! This is a very kid friendly place…there stood a 25ft milk bottle which on closer look is a climbing wall for children. There is also a huge… Continue

Surprise! I met Eric and Nicki of this very SI at “I was merely Acting/Dramatic Shorts at IMA.
My second show at IIFF. There are 5 shorts in this one sitting. What interested me primarily was “The Collector” because of my love-hate relationship with clutter. But after watching it, I realized that I didn’t get this story! A dying man recollected his early days of collection and supposedly he realize… Continue

This is my first time at the Indianapolis International Film Festival – Since I like making videos, I was primarily interested in short stories. Thrillers/suspense/whodunits and especially horror is my kinds of genre so I was delighted they are showing one called “Shorts M Night Would be Proud of/shorts with a Twist”. Ok, this will show my true ignorance! I don’t know how the film industry worked..do these films later get shown on big screens? Maybe at independent film events? Ironic that I’m no… Continue
We got rid of our water softener and brine tank for about 4 months now. In its place we got an electronic water conditioner that measures 8.5” X 6” and it's wall mountable close to the the water source. It comes with a coil to be wrapped around the pipe where we get our water supply. It is said to be a “green” alternative for hard water treatment; helps saves energy and improve water heater efficiency and can remove mineral buildup without salt or other chemicals. The system induces different el… Continue
Wordle generate word clouds from text and I thought I’d give Wordle a try by putting a portion from my resume to see how it turns out. I played around with the layouts and colors and it’s really fun.
Our third road trip this year – but this one is our first to Eastern US to fly. To the southwestern corner of New York to be exact. Didn’t think there are so many trees, farms and hilly terrain in New York. A far cry from New York City. It was great meeting old friends again, making new friends and enjoying a weekend in the company of wonderful company, great flying, food and fun.

I love trying different things for my cooking. I use Sprite, Coke, beer, wine and even coffee (not all at the same time) to make sauces or marinate. I tend to get the wide eyed look and "What?" when I tell people that. I guess the idea of using these ingredients (mainly the sodas and… Continue
By slow drivers, I meant those who goes to the right passing lane on the highway and do not do the minimum speed limit? Well there is! There are drivers that speed up and slow down erratically in whichever highway lane they are in.
Here I’d think the driver passing me on the fast lane would maintain a certain speed..but when I got behind him, he would suddenly slow down and I have to brake. Same thing on the slow lane and hence, this game of "passing". When I share the highway with guys… Continue
A sashimi lover and one who grew up eating seafood at least 4 days of the week, I have a craving or two for the raw fresh stuff ever so often. Luckily, there is a good Japanese restaurant close enough to satiate that craving. Salmon sashimi is always available and the color is usually the first thing I look at to determine if it’s “good”. Well, I was enjoying my first piece today, when I realized that I have a packet of smoked salmon waiting in the fridge! Oop!
My wandering mind then goes on to… Continue

I read an article in WSJ (May 12, 09) “Soda Tax Weighed to Pay for Health Care”. The article says “senate leaders considering new federal taxes on sodas and other sugary drinks to help pay for an overhaul of the nation’s health care sytem.” By the way, I also found out that my drinking a 20 fl oz of Vitamin Water (Orange-orange being my choice for training purpose) meant I consumed just short of a regular can of Coca-cola in terms of calories and sugars!! Whoa!! That is a revelation huh?!? (This… Continue
The poor pig is not having its day...now with the swine flu - it is really getting a bad rep..I happen to have fondness for this creature and to hear that Egypt is going to slaughter some 300,000 pigs and it was not even reported that the virus could be spread to humans by eating pork is quite saddening for me. Pigs also happen to be clean creatures and have the best noses for truffles. Is this the end of bacon, one of my fav foods? Are we going to avoid pork products..I was at the grocery store… Continue
As an ultralight pilot, I was very excited that my trip to Florida coincided with the Sun n Fun Airshow - noted as being one of the biggest in the country and so I was not going to let this oppotunity slip by. I am greatly rewarded with the experience.
I took alot of video shots that day and this is one of those performances that is amazing! It's performed by the Golden Knights - The US Army Parachute Team.
