Not sure if Pat will consider this too commercial for a blog post, but I'm hoping with the economy as it is a company that is growing and hiring would be appreciated :-)
We are looking to add 4 more BDM's (business development managers) to start at the beginning of April. These are inside sales positions and we are looking for outgoing people with around 2 years of sales experience.
doesn't really matter what you have been selling. We actually have a couple of former campus recruiters who are…

My friend John Jantshch of Duct Tape Marketing Fame has come up with a really clever idea that I think if perfect for the SI Mission. Please review his note below, and make a commitment to help refer to small business the week of March 9-13.
Make a Referral - jump start the economy
We're pledging to make a referral to a business we want to help as part of a national campaign to make 1000 referrals March 9-13. What a great small business stimulus plan - won’t you join us.

I love the NFL. Everyone should agree that it's the premier professional sports league...and the reason for that is parity. Now in Government a lot of people are going to think that anyone who even discusses policy designed to bring on parity is a (gulp)
socialist.....

So this cartoon may be a little quaint in the price of gas, but the message is right on. High gas prices trigger the right conservation effect. Today the price of a barrel of oil hit $162 down 57% from July. Why? Because high prices have triggered the right behavior…

Ok, so this isn't the typical new car glamor shot :-) But the primary feature of the new VW Jetta Diesel is this dashboard. Rather than the Speedometer front & center, my focus is drawn to my Miles Per Gallon. Sorry for the poor quality of the photo (I was driving) but this sho…

I want to shout out and thank Nicki, honestly one of the most prolific and helpful members of this community. As I mentioned, we have started a series of blogs here at Compendium focused on Indy Restaurant review just to showcase our software. Nicki was the first member of SI to submit a review and I'm really grateful....as I'm sure Shapiro's is.

I am one who has been called out by Pat for being too self-promotional. Pat's right. I've got lot's of other outlets and I get that he's trying to make SI something different.
So from now on, I'm only going to blog here on Environmental issues that occupy my thinking.
Starting with something that really kind of freaked me out in the Star this Sunday. Anyone else read the article about the new Marriott? Great project and I'm of course all for development here in Indianapolis that drives the wel…

Many of you know that I'm kind of a freak for Seth Godin. Permission Marketing inspired me to start emailing and Co-found ExactTarget. I've pounded on bongos in the loft in Dobbs Ferry and it was Seth who first got me started on blogging and inspired me to write my book.
The thing is that Seth is easy to follow. His message is simple, ethical and most of all True.
We built Compendium around what we believe to be the principles he would advocate (although, Martin Luther thought that too, LOL)…

So I was thrilled to run a session on Advanced Business Blogging at the recent Blog Indiana event. I learned a lot and there were some really smart people with some really good ideas and advice for Blogging and Corporate Blogging specifically.
But there was a Ton of Crap too. This stuff makes me so mad that I just have to rant a little.....
The stuff I heard at the conference and throughout the blogoshpere has given me an idea for a whitepaper: "Top Ten Lies about Business Blogging" (once I ca…
