Making people and ideas findable

10 Tips for the 4000 Member AFTER Party

It was good to see everyone last night at the Rathskellar. If that didn't prove the power of online to offline networking I don't know what will! I wanted to write a quick post to give some pointers on what you should be doing to make the MOST of the party last night.
YES! The 4,000 Member After Party.
This is much like the Grammy Awards After-Party.... but without the Dolce and Armani and the plastic surgery.

Let's get this party started.

1. Take some Advil.

2. Take out those business cards and email everyone you met. Always follow up with contacts from networking events. Most of us know this but it still needs to be in the After-Party.

3. Out of the people you met last night.. make sure you are friends with all of them on the site. ALWAYS.

4. If you have pictures, video, podcasts, vodcasts, or manuscripts, add them to the site. We would love to see them.

5. Write about your experience on the SI blog. We want to hear about it! Good or Bad.

6. Email Pat Coyle, Lorraine Ball, or myself and let us know us know what you would do differently at the next party.

7. Make it a point to have three meetings with three people you met at the Smaller Indiana event (in the next two weeks or month).

8. Watch every single video Brandon Lott uploads to the site.

9. Make fun of your friends that DID NOT come to the party. Break them down so we can build them back up at the next event! :-)

10. Invite 10 contacts to the site. Make it bigger, better, and stronger.

Again, it was awesome to see and meet everyone from the site. Until next time!

Dwayne - that must be an iStock photo Kyle used. The actual event included less formal dancing and more informal networking. Look for the videos later to see footage of last night's event.

Sorry I missed it but I can see in the pic that I would have been WAY under dressed. ;>)

How much did Brandon pay you to plug him? :)

Help

A few things to consider before joining Smaller Indiana:
1. Please use your real name (first and last) when you sign up, or we cannot open your account

2. Please do not use logos or commercial images for your profile photo

3. Events should be posted in the events calendar

4. You can post pretty much anything you want on your own personal page (self promotion, etc), and you can change the style of your personal profile page to reflect your corporate identification if you so choose.

5. Please keep all comments civil and polite. It's OK to feel strongly about a subject, and it's OK to be critical of ideas, but please refrain from personal attacks of any kind.

If you witness or experience any issues, please contact admin@smallerindiana.com and we will look into the matter.

6. "Blatant self-promotion" is discouraged on SI, and "spam" is not welcome. Please be considerate of your fellow members.

7. Display ads (graphic banners designed to promote your business) can only live on your own profile page, unless you are an approved sponsor of Sponsor of Smaller Indiana.

Smaller Indiana is supported by its members, and by corporate sponsors. If you're interested in learning more about sponsorship, please call Pat Coyle at 317 332 7878.
