Making people and ideas findable

So the reality is no one wants to talk about the sting the economy is taking on their businesses. I am happy for those of you that are finding your business is on track even bringing in higher revenues than projected. That's clearly not the norm right now. Given all the recent failures and bailouts lets be serious and remove the blinders. Telling yourself you've recession-proofed your business may be denial.

I just returned from a two-trip trade show that started in Vegas and ended in Lexington. Both shows were down in attendance, down in exhibits, and down in quality leads. People are clearly being careful about their spending and restraining budgets right now.

Anyone want to get honest and talk about the impact you're feeling? What are you doing to minimize that impact? What do you think?

I am down a bit this month. Usually my oil sales get real busy in October - December. My retail accounts are still picking up new customers but my individual sales have dropped a bit.

I have noticed my customers are either buying diesel trucks (they are cheap) or they are buying fuel efficient cars if they commute.

Potential sales calls for my oil testing services is coming in at a higher rate. Companies are wanting to maximize their lubricant usage.
