Making people and ideas findable

I know as a business owner, you can get caught up in your own little world, but have you thought of
the homeless?
I heard of a beautiful story today from a friend of 29 years, that I had to share. She had taken her son
to his birthday party at the circle city mall, they had went for pizza in the mall, ordered 3 pizzas, all the kids had eaten and they had one large pizza left, she noticed there was a man looking down at the table in his grubby
clothes, and new that this man was probably homeless and decided to give him a couple pieces of the leftover pizza, she then left the table to run to the restroom, when she returned there were 3 others sitting around him, she knew that these people were coming in from being outside in the cold and then she decided to just give the whole pizza
to them, and the 4 homeless had eaten the pizza. I just thought this was an eyeopener story, we have so much that we take for granted and forget that we have warm homes and so much food and things, I would just like to encourage you to think and look around, there may be oppurtunities for you to give and to help others in need, it is a dreadful time of year in the cold and especially for the homeless, please look for these oppurtunities to help others in our own city of Indiana!!

If anyone is interested in making a direct impact on homelessness in Indiana, I strongly urge you to participate in Homeward Bound, a 5k walk to provide housing and fight homelessness.

In fact, maybe I'll start a Smaller Indiana walk team.

I try my best to know by name and acknowledge (talk with) the homeless people in my community. I have deep personal reasons for doing so. There are so many mysterious reasons why someone is or chooses to be isolated and alienated as a homeless person. The best we can do is continue to reach out and try to bring them back into society in more accepted way.

The face of homelessness has changed from that of self inflicted laziness to one of outright just bad luck and circumstances. Many Americans are living paycheck to paycheck and one little disaster and they would be homeless. Every homeless person is not just someone who just needs to "get a job". once someone experiences the lack of an address and simple phone usage, the walls and barriers can really pile up. There are local organizations that are doing a lot about this issue. Good News Ministries, Christian Help Inc., Faith Hope and Love, Shepherd Community Center, HVA (homeles veterans association, Bread of Life Ministries, there are FOod Pantry's like The Lords Locker, and MOre. Going Back to the heart of God is Love and Love is a VERB. an action. That is why those who claim to Love and Know God and don't give have not fully matured in their relationships with him. Evidence of the true spirit of God can be seen by the number of service oriented organizations and "ministries". It would be neat to see the ratio of faith based service vs. non and the impact. they exist and clearly show that throwing money at an issue doesn't work. it takes true commitment & long term compassion to have an impact. How many athiest homeless support organizations and compassion/relief groups exist.

Know God, Know Love.... No God, No Love.
