Thoughts on the "Coexist" Bumper Sticker (part 2) The Search for Harmony

Since we have maximized the amount of posting space that will appear in the SI forum, and although the discussion continues, I thought it would be good to start a new one. I invite all of those who have posted before and have been following and those who are new to continue the discussion that Kyle Lacy started. In an attempt to keep it to the Nature of SI... Here are some ground rules for this blog that I hope everyone can respect.

1. Keep it clean (no cheap shots and hitting below the belt)
2. Keep it REAL (whatever that means... I dont really know, but it seemed like a good place to say that)
3. Keep it going :o) ( although some may be more long winded than others, that doesn't mean they are experts or smarter, or have more credibility than others... looking objectively at those who post, I think we can draw our own conclusions about others without being judgemental.
4. Come Clean: Try to be clear... If you come to realize that you may have mispoke or came accross wrong, admit it, apologize, ask for forgiveness, move on.
5. Seek Truth: Look for truth in what everyone posts and throw out the rest. Truth is in us and around us and no one person posseses all truth and all knowing, we can all learn from each other, no matter how different.
6. Love Conquers all: keep a spirit of love for one another, no matter how different and allow each other to express them selves and their thoughts.

I think that is a good place to start... What do ya'll think? I think whether we like it or not, we already have to coexist, it is a matter up to us to decide how that coexistence will look like. One of harmony despite differences or one of discord... you reap what you sow... So lets start sowing some seeds that our children are proud of.

FInally: When are we going to Shoot the Video? I am Serious... it would be so much fun : I still think I could be bruce springstein and the rest of you all can be whoever... I would like to see Lorraine with pink hair.

This is an open forum with 1 rule: RESPECT. you can bring some controversial points to people attention and disagree with them and still be honorable. I think that everyone in your thread acted honorable except Joe. I deleted his comments, if he want to reword them in an honorable way to bring his points to the table then he can do so, but if he were attacking. I am not going to play in the mud, I would like to play clean.

Nicki,

I like how you love peace and express yourself through music... your music choices are easy on the ears and tend to bring people together. Thanks for being a peacemaker... blessings to you.

Isn't that against the whole purpose of having an open forum? You can do what you want because it is your post. I just think it takes away from the purpose.

Erik... thanks for the heads up... we all love each other here and respect one another... If disrespect shows up on this blog... it will be deleted. I hope to see some more fun start soon though.

Kyle,

Yes... I deleted the comments that weren't nesc. LIke the ones that told me to unlock the permissions, since i have done that, I thought they were unnesc. I deleted my post to Joe... I got out of line and broke my own rule by telling him he admittedly "is what he eats". I will probably delete this one soon too... because I said it again. I deleted Joe's Rant... He just wont agree to the terms on this post so he's out until he can. We don't need the constant negativity... I don't mind being questioned and confronted with hard questions that take some research to answer, but I will not tolerate someone who belittles others for no reason... If he wants to continue to do that on your Blog... I have no control over that... but his poinson is not going to happen here. He over and over again calls me a liar and makes claims that are lies in and of themselves. He doesn't give any base for which a dialogue can take place that doesn't agree with him 100%. Even if it did, I think he would be a dick to himself.

However... I did notice that Lorraine posted something and it is no longer here... she must have deleted it herself. The only ones I deleted were your 2 posts directed at helping me set this up correctly to continue and the post that I had that crossed the line and the one that Joe posted that crossed the line. I hope this works. I am trying to start this one out by telling the others what I like about them. we will get to the other stuff soon enough.

Nila,

You are Fresh and Sasssy ;0) I like that. We probably don't see eye to eye on things, but at least we can get along and post our differences in a cordial manner. I am glad to see you here on SI and look forward to hearing more of your comments. If everyone thought and looked at the world the same way... it would be boring :o)

Chris,

I like your laid back, can't everyone just get along approach... very level. It takes all sorts. Keep up the good work and see you on the flip side. :o)

Bruce: Well said, Thanks for your clear ability to define what the purposes are and how to do it. You have opened my eyes and shown me a clear way to communicate effectively with people who disagree with me. you are the escence of the word CIVILITY. You are also very intelligent and have a pretty good grasp on the way things "ought to be" Keep it up. We don't always agree on things, but your thoughts are insightful and challenging. They push me to BE MORE and SERVE MORE.
