This past year, a small group of talented Ball State University students adapted my book The Circus in Winter into a really wonderful musical. On July 17 and 18, these students will present a concert reading performance in Peru, my hometown. These shows will benefit two important organizations in Peru: the Ole Olsen Memorial Theater and the International Circus Hall of Fame. As an added incentive, I will give away one signed copy of The Circus in Winter to anyone there who promotes the event with social media (blog, SheWrites, Smaller Indiana, Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, Picasa, etc.). Note: I don't have the authority to give away free tickets, but you can certainly call the organizers and ask.
And don't forget that the following Saturday, July 24, is the annual Circus City Festival, complete with an old-fashioned circus parade, a carnival midway, and two performances of the Peru Amateur Circus.
May all your days be circus days.
