Smaller Indiana

Making people and ideas findable

I work at the Indiana Office of Tourism Development and we're running a promotion, in association with Smaller Indiana, to help promote our Leaf Cam and Fall travel in Indiana. In the spirit of transparency, I wanted to get some thoughts from the community about things we're doing well or ways we could improve and increase involvement in the promotion.

The gist of the promotion is that we're offering complementary overnights at select lodging destinations in Southern Indiana to Smoosiers in exchange for blogging and tweeting about Fall travel in Indiana and our Leaf Cam. The way to enter the promotion is to blog, tweet or post on Facebook about Fall travel along with links to either VisitIndiana.com and our Leaf Cam page or by using the #LeafCam hashtag in twitter, then post a link to your blog/tweet/status on the discussion group for the week's contest (this week's contest discussion group is here).

For last week's promotion, we had one entrant and for this week, no one has posted on the group yet. Should we simplify the entry process? Have we not pushed out the message, or are the overnights simply not a big enough draw? Any other thoughts about how to drum up interest in this?

We're big fans of Smaller Indiana and we love working with them to help promote Indiana, we just want your thoughts on this promotion.
