I'm
at the beginning of a transition from a casual, if not reluctant cell phone user to a smartphone evangelist. Maybe. Most of my cell phone use to date has been the kind where I check the time or wait for it to ring so I can talk to my wife. I don't use it to surf for information or check email, but I do text Twitter from time to time. That will change this week with the arrival of a new Android G1 with a T-Mobile data plan, courtesy
Hanapin Marketing as incentive to help them explore the ins and outs of mobile web design.
As part of my journey, I'm interested to learn how
you use your cell phone. (Is there anyone who doesn't have one these days?) What functions are vital to your work or personal routines? Which features are you intimidated to use? Do you have any regrets? How does this little device fit into the ecology of all the other devices you have in your life?
There are two ways you can help me understand what I'm getting into:
1) Comment here, or
on my blog. Share your own experience adopting and integrating a cell phone into your day-to-day routine.
2) Complete
this survey and pass the link along. I kept it simple. It shouldn't take more than a couple minutes of your time. I want to get a better understanding of which applications Hoosiers use on their phones, and whether anyone surfs the mobile web.
I would be particularly interested to hear about the experiences of anyone who has recently purchased an Android G1.
