Making people and ideas findable

I'm curious if anyone else is sending in Red Envelopes tomorrow on March 31st. My wife and I are. I think this is the first year its been done. I just went to a CVS and bought 2 cards for future birthdays for family members and grabbed a red envelope with it.

Anyway, I heard that the creators were wanting people to do photos and meet in groups at post offices and such, so I just thought I'd ask on SmIN. I believe it's between the hours of 12:00 - 1:00pm on the 31st if you work during the day. If you do not work, they wanted people to show up between 10:00 - 11:00am and in groups. If you have no idea what I'm talking about you can visit RedEnvelopeDay.com

Thanks,

Thanks Scott. Yes, I agree that the basis for the action is difficult to find. It took me a while to find it. I'm drawn to it because it's physical and symbolic, but not an angry crowd of protesters that makes it seem like people hate other people even if they are just trying to prevent death.

Seems like a committed, grassroots effort, certain to involve and inspire many. But it took three clicks for me to figure out why anyone would send a red envelope on March 31! :) I clicked from the SI front page to this blog, to the RedEnvelopeDay.com page with video intro, to the About page, which finally told me "The [red] envelopes represent the innocent blood shed through abortion, and the plea for the blood of Jesus over the sin of our nation."

I'm pro-choice, and I'm Christian. I won't be participating in the RedEnvelopeDay campaign, but (a) I don't think there's anything wrong with being pro-life -- I mean, we simply disagree on this complex issue -- and (b) I think most of us agree that it would be great if fewer abortions were occurring.

I hope more and more people will think carefully and pray about their beliefs (as you and many others have) and act upon them with passion and conviction (as you and many others are). Though I think we disagree, I'll be praying for you and your movement -- that you may continue to courageously advocate your viewpoint in a peaceful, thought-provoking, prayer-provoking, and hopefully effective way.
