Sport Stacking: Pretty Cool, but it's not a Sport

Have you seen the videos of people stacking and unstacking cups?

I don't know that I would call it a "sport" per se, but it is pretty cool to watch.

Pick an activity, any activity, and add speed or style or difficulty to it, and you can make it a competitive event. (However, that does not make it a sport.)

There are world air guitar championships, world texting championships, and even hitting a ball with a stick and then walking after it. None of them are sports though!

Find out what other sports are not really sports at my Laughing Stalk blog.

It does sound pretty cool, and I've thought about just getting some cups and poking holes into them to see if any of my kids would enjoy it. I still can't get over how popular it's becoming. I'm torn between it not really being a sport and it's complete coolness.

Our son actually got into it because they were doing it at school.

I'll have to get to your blog later, but we bought a set of these for my uber-competitive son and he didn't quite take to it. Might have to show him some YouTube videos to inspire him. I wish they would offer it at our school.

I laughed through this whole article. My son just got into this, so it's cup crazy around here too.
