This is very important to help our kids. If you don't have an autistic child, I'll bet you know someone who does. My little guy was struggling with lots of problems closely related to autism. He had been kicked out Bible school, threw uncontrollable fits, stacked everything he could get his hands on and never ever looked us in the face.

My wife talked to everyone about him to try and find someone that could help. We found that someone in Dr. Robert Prather at Prather Wellness Center.

With his diagnose, help through supplements and Asian treatments, he is a brand new boy. I can't tell you how grateful we are.

So pass the word, the twitter and anything else you can think of. People need to know there is help out there. Even here in the Midwest. Support #ASD.

I thought her response to you was worth posting for anyone else to see.

My name is Jenn Schindler – my husband Don forwarded me your note from Smaller Indiana regarding The Prather Wellness Center.

It was just one year ago that we were struggling with making a connection with our son, Isaiah.

He had little or no ability to communicate with us. He was verbal, however, did not know how to control emotions or express them. We dealt with temper tantrums of the worst kind – the kind that would go on for hours with really no explanation of why they started.

He lined objects up throughout the home and it was absolutely necessary that no one ever disturb any of his “stuff.”

We walked around the house on egg shells, just doing anything and everything not to awake the sleeping bear.

All the while – he did not show affection – did not want to be hugged, kissed or held.

We went to The Prather Wellness Center in search of answers, in search of something that could help us manage the roller coaster we were all on.

PLEASE NOTE ALL OF WHAT FOLLOWS IS SIMPLY A MOM’S EXPLANATION OF THE PROCESS…DR. PRATHER CAN PROVIDE ACCURATE DESCRIPTIONS AS WELL AS SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCE OF THE PROCEDURE AS IT RELATES TO THE TREATMENT AND HEALING OF THE BODY.

Through a hair analysis we found that Isaiah had high levels of aluminum within his system that was affecting the development of the right side of his brain. It wasn’t that he was “choosing” to act out…he simply did not have the development or the skills to react any differently. Dr. Prather was able to provide us a great deal of insight into why Isaiah was doing the things he was doing. He was able to offer suggestions for behavior modification through increased gross motor activity.

We began a process of detoxifying his system through natural supplements. All the while Dr. Prather closely monitored his progress and adjusted the combination of what he was taking as needed. Isaiah never complained about taking the supplements and actually seemed to look forward to it.

In addition, he was given aricular therapy treatments 2 – 3 times a week for approximately 3 months. The combination of these things brought about amazing and significant change in our son.

First, he developed an amazing connection and relationship with the gentleman who gave him the aricular therapy treatments. Even from the first time they met (and Isaiah was not one to like ANYONE), Guang had such a calming effect on Isaiah…it was amazing. They started with massage treatments to help build trust and after a few of those Isaiah looked forward to seeing Guang.

From there they moved into the articular therapy which was like an electrical form of acupuncture performed on his ears. Specific areas on his ears were stimulated to encourage development of the right side of his brain. We were educated on the fact there are stimulus points on all areas of the ear that match with the brain – when stimulated it can help engage that area of the brain.

One year later Isaiah is a completely different child.

Instead of being obsessed with bowling, lining random objects throughout the home, and preferring to play by himself – he enjoys playing with Thomas the tank and pre-tend games with his sisters where he has an active role in the story.

Instead of pushing off hugs and kisses – he is a VERY affectionate child.

He is not perfect by any means, though. He's still four. But at least now he's manageable and really acting like any other four year old child.

Don,
I would really like to learn more about Prather from someone whose child benefitted from their services and programs. Could you please email me at erin@countrymousecitymouseindy.com if you get a chance so we can talk more about your situation, their programs and their results. We in the early stages of dealing with this ourselves and are trying to leave no stone unturned, and are not opposed to "alternative" treatments.
Thank you so much,
Erin
