Smaller Indiana is an amazing network. I am excited to have moved to Indiana and to meet so many people who are committed to making a difference.
My intention for joining the network is to continue to meet new people, learn of new ideas, and to make a contribution to the community, myself.
I grew up in the world of high-tech, working at a large corporation (EDS) and two Internet start-ups focused on business development. I have supported large strategic sales, created and managed strategic alliances, and completed mergers and acquisitions.
I am very interested in sponsorship and causing marketing. I see this marketing medium growing at the expense of traditional marketing -- and I am excited to see the activation infrastructure growing as web 2.0.
I look forward to meeting you, personally in the near future.
Hi Jerry,
My company, VAMP Shows (vampshows.com,) is a traveling theatre troupe that performs murder mysteries and Improv comedy shows for corporations, organizations and private parties. We’ve performed for holiday parties, company picnics, banquets, annual meetings, trade shows, etc. One thing has led to another and I am now branching VAMP out into offering team-building, effective listening and communication training using the rules of Improvisation. I also do public speaking on topics such as Improv life skills, small company events, public relations and wine. Strange mix I know, but I am also the Marketing and Public Relations for Purgatory Cellars/White Owl Winery. (whiteowlwinery.com)
Guess that makes me a professional wine drinker too!
Anyone have ideas or suggestions? Contact me here or at
joy@vampshows.com
Thanks!
Joy
Hi Jerry
I am not sure what I hope to gain, maybe just some insight that would help me as well as others not just in business but in general as well. I like to think I have many good qualities. I woud like to meet like minded people, people that I could bounce ideas off of and let them do the same.
Jerry,
I am on the board of Trusted Mentors. You can get an idea of their mission at www.trustedmentors.org.
Are you aware of Homeward Bound, a walk that is being held downtown next month to raise money for charities trying to prevent homelessness? Their site is www.homewardboundindiana.org, and I have a team of walkers named the KPS Crawlers. If you are not already involved, you are welcome to join my team.

Hey Jerry,
I can do either one.
I lived for many years on the west side.
Avon and Brownsburg.
Raised my three daughters there, all went to Ben Davis HS.
Hope all is well and thank you for a warm welcoming to Smaller Indiana. I am lookong for a job in public relations or communication fields. Or it can be anything related to that.
I have two Master's degrees; one in applied communication (major in corporate and health communication) and another one in public relations management. I am here to expand my networks and see if this will help me to meet more people and obtain a job.
I am very good at working with people and very patient. People say that I have excellent people skills and I always find it truly pleasurable to communicate with others. I have experiences in client services, conducting research analysis, market research/competitor scans. I have a keen interest in social media, social networking, SEO, and computer advanced technology.
I also have international professional experiences, I worked for IBM Thailand with software team and its marketing department, as well as OgilvyOne Worldwide and helped the firm in both client services and strategic planning area.
I am so new to the site, hence I am not sure who I can meet. Your advice would be much appreciated.
Jerry,
Thanks for the welcome. After years of being a corporate executive, I started my own company helping individuals and organizations achieve their goals. I am also on the board for a non-profit that mentors people who are "at risk" of becoming homeless.
I moved to Indy's northeast side so I am trying to expand my contacts. Basically I like to network and meet new people to help my business grow.
Being in real estate I need to network and prove to new contacts that I am the person they need to represent them. The best way to do that is to simply make contact with them and the rest will follow.
You should get in contact with Extreme Home Makeover and try and work out a deal with them. Either that or HGTV or Travel Channel who do home building shows. Also Indiana Home Show would be good target company to host. Problem is most of your potential customers probably have contracts.
Yea I was confused on that one. I thought it was overseas. I saw the comment at the top,but didn't put it together.. yea may want to clear that up. ha did you see the comments you got in the twitosphere. I don't think they liked where you put your post since it didn't relate much to twitter.
Hi Jerome! I think nohome.org is a great idea! Not sure why it's having trouble picking up (would probably need more info to give an opinion), but you might want to read "Made to Stick." It's an awesome book / resource on how to make ideas stick.
This is great what you are doing! Ok this is my personal opinion. I already have a web service and do not plan on changing. If I were looking I would prefer to support something local than overseas. You are funneling your market to a small % of people that want to contribute to that cause. It is great don't get me wrong, but I would remove the larger pictures, and make them more general and then show your support in smaller images. So many people are skeptical about things like this because there are so many scams. Your facebook and ect will probably help to validate you are who you say you are. I am also very big on support. As a customer support is a very high priority. If my site is down I want to be able to message them right then or call them.. You only have a form and skype. Not everyone uses skype. Again this is only my 2 cents (which sometimes doesn't matter much) :-) But hope it helps.
thanks jerome. This is a really good cause. I will spread the word.
Also, you seem like you have good energy, could you join the other good people i've met online? GED999.com. we are starting a movement to spread goodness with just good thoughts and energy. thanks
