I've never looked into books on WordPress. I'm guessing that you want to know what template tags do and such. With a new version of WordPress coming out every so frequently, I would hesitate using anything but the WordPress codex. http://codex.wordpress.org/Template_Tags Since it's a wiki, it is slow to be updated, but it's a starting spot for reference. Big picture wise, I don't know where to start. I like to get into the code and figure it out. I've slowing and gradually been making my blogs more complex. I usually use Google to find what a tag does. I had to guess at the meaning of some tag parameters when tags were implemented within WordPress 2.3. Thankfully, the community is so large and so many people blog about WordPress, it's usually easy to find what you need via Google.

Hi Dan! Yeah, I'm new to this. It looks like it's a great site to be a part of. I'm glad we were able to help you out. Let us know if you need anything in the future.
Hi Dan...
Because this will be a pretty robust site, you likely won't see a regional Beta 'til May, and looking toward August/September for a national launch. Thanks for signing up though, we'll be sure to keep you informed of it's progress.
Best of luck with your search..... Jeff
Thanks again for the quick response! I started out in Graphic Design and then realized my passion for getting paint and ink on my hands. I appreciate the advice and I will definitely look into those websites.
Thanks for the message! Art therapy has definitely been on my radar. It would require me to go back to school, so it's something I would need to be completely set on. Feel free to send any other ideas my way! I am open to anything that presents itself in the art field, even internships.
At this point it's EXTREMELY theoretical and weighted towards statistical analysis, but if you look at what companies like BitWise are doing in the area of Web Analytics for large commercial sites like Amazon you need that level of scientific approach. They track the user through the entire site, how long on each page, the entire navigational log. I'm more interested in User Experience, and functionality, how much they enjoy the application. What I want to do is have a consulting firm that saves us from the horrible terrors we experience at Walmart and Meier in the "self checkout" lines, and other touch screen horrors that we are all subjected to in our personal and professional lives. But until then, helping folks build user-friendly websites will help me gain experience. Ever had a bad experience with a website? LOL
Thanks Dan! I took a look at your work as well, I really like your use of color in your fine art.

BTW Dan, I'm right around the corner from you in New Pal, just moved here about 5 years ago, after living in Greenfield for 16 years. I'm currently doing my Graduate work in Human-Computer Interaction, and I've very passionate about usability and User Experience, so if you ever want to chat about usability, or if any of your clients want help with usable design let me know..and thanks for all the LLC notes!
Hi Brandon, I'm right in the middle of deciding on who to help me form my LLC, small business liability insurance, etc. - I'm curious about what type of business consulting you like to give me. I'll call a little bit later this morning. Cheers, Dan
hey dan, good to see you SI. Let's talk LLC, call me on Wednesday and I will give you a little free business consulting. Please visit my company's website, www.gazellewebandconsulting.com.
So far I've only experienced one who didn't understand the business value in having a website for his business. But I've not been doing freelance very long.
