It’s Not God Bless America, It’s God BLESSED America

Now that it’s July, I’m reminded of where I was last year in July. Nigeria (photos my brother took are in the video above). Anybody who doesn’t appreciate America has never spent time in a “Third World” country.

You see, America is like the Matrix, and “Third World” countries are the real world.

It’s a luxury in that I get to sit around all day thinking up complex computer science problems to solve. I get to drive down the street without having to make sure I brought enough money to bribe all the “policemen” on my way to and on my way back from my destination. I don’t have to worry about having an armed bodyguard watching my home. I don’t have to worry about having armed escorts take me from the airport to my home. If I decided to, I could drive across the country with little fear of being attacked by armed robbers. I can criticize politicians openly without fear of being assassinated for it. I could go on and on.

If you ever get down on your luck, remember, you’re still in the greatest country in the world. Life just ain’t that bad.

Bless you brother for that sentiment. We do take it forgranted. 7 years ago I went to Mexico City for 10 days and it didnt take long for me to see what you just described. God BLESSED America and made it the home of the free and the land of the Brave because He has been with us for so long. I praise Him for that. I am so glad that you can see that and have taken the time to bring that to others attention because we need to CONSTANTLY remind ourselves of all of the blessings that have been poured out on us. Im so grateful. Have a awesome July 4th weekend! ^5

Thanks for the comment Chris. I wish more folks in the States could experience what I was talking about in the post, because pictures and words only go so far. Actually experiencing what I'm talking about is a whole different ball game. You're one of the lucky ones, you got to see the different reality. Enjoy the 4th!

Please Share Your Two-Wheeling Secrets with Me

I confess. The only motorcycle I've ever owned was an 80cc Yamaha back in 1970. I used to have to pull the head gasket about once a month, and it would stop (stop!) suddenly, at speed, in order to...
