Making people and ideas findable

I've been learning a lot lately about the energy flow in our bodies and how it essentially influences everything in our experience.

As the primary focus of my coaching journey revolves around relationships, I get to take every concept and look at it as a duality. Essentially, how it applies to 2 people in a close connection. Or lack thereof.

Although we are independent beings and are truly not dependent upon anything outside of ourselves, our energy and that of our significant other can have interesting effects.

Have you ever noticed how drained you feel around certain people? Or how elated you are to be around specific someones? That's your energy flow.

The energy space you are in has an influence on the outcome of your interactions also. If you go into a connection in a bad space, you will ensure the outcome will not be positive.

When you pay attention to the way you feel and the level of your energy, you can optimize your interaction with others.

What do you think?

So what causes the energy ebb and flow? How can we change it? Do we even get to, or is it out of our hands?

Our energy is constantly in motion. Technically, everything around is energy and it all has an effect.

That's why some environments / situations are calming & soothing and others are tense & stressful.

Simply taking care of yourself is the first step to optimizing your energy. It is difficult to avoid being exposed to the wrong energy in this day and age. You can however minimize it's effects. I recently learned that energy does not flow through us - our bodies absorb and retain it.

Thus, too much exposure to the wrong kind can build up. And, it must be cleared to move it along.

Choosing wisely what you do, who you interact with etc. will have a great impact on your resulting energy. And those you share it with.

I believe that we as a society are slowly coming to a level of conscious awareness of the concept of energy. ‘The Secret’ got people talking about it, but it is a concept that has been around since the dawn of recorded time. Great minds like Buddha, Jesus, Emerson, Edison, Ford, Rockefeller, Coolidge, so on and so forth have talked about how we can use our minds to transform our reality; and all of this is based on energy patterns and how they flow in, around and through us.

"Energy Medicine" is the best term I know for describing the body as a system of energies being applied for promoting health, healing, and happiness. As a Chiropractor, I am fascinated by how sensitive and conscious I now am by the way my patients' energy levels resonate and affect my own energy. Most people that we are drawn to resonate at a level that reminds of ourselves, and if they are at the opposite end of the spectrum we feel like they have sucked the life out of us in a brief interaction. Traditional Western "Medicine" as we know it typically just includes drugs/surgery for a disease that is already built up in the body due to toxic energy from bad lifestyle habits, negative relationships, or stress. Everyone needs to learn more about this and seek out TRUE wellness care -Chiropractors, Naturopaths, Herbalists, Massage Therapists, Nutritionists, Personal Trainers, etc, etc. Most Americans just let some insurance guy in a cubicle tell them what they should invest their healthcare dollars in:(

Subtle energies exist within our bodies and the outside environment and I believe an imbalance profoundly affects our health and state of mind. As such, I am an avid fan of feng shui techniques, charkra (re)balancing with crystals and yoga.

I firmly believe that your attitude and your emotions will control your day. You can design the day you want through the type of feelings you have.

Hi, Mark. I believe that there is an energy that flows through our bodies and connects us to the rest of the universe. We are not actually separate at all. We are not independent of this energy at all. There is energy in everything around us. One can do certain things to improve one's energy flow. What works best for me - meditation, working with a personal trainer, eating organic, Reiki, performing energy exercises, and staying in the moment. Keeping my energy up seems to create a protection of sorts around me that helps to shield me from energy sucking people and situations. And when that doesn't work, I just plain avoid them. I read about this concept years ago in “Conversations with God.” A very cool video that beautifully illustrates the oneness of all energy in relationship with what we think of as ourselves is available online for free. Presented by Jill Bolte Taylor, brain scientist. Premise of the video is what happens during a stroke. Give it about 15 minutes of your time and you will be amazed. Nothing for sale here, just a profound experience.

Best wishes in your practice, looking forward to more conversations….
