Making people and ideas findable

Last night I met artists,, designers, engineers, mothers, fathers and many more...I met people from all over the world and we chatted about a wide range of topics...and oh, by the way, I heard amazing stories from professional storytellers in an historic building, which has a story of its own to tell. How about you? Will you share with us your story from last night's party?

Thanks to Pat and all my fellow Smoosiers for helping to introduce the art of storytelling to such a great group of people! I saw some familiar faces and lots of new ones, and I hope to see even more in the future. If you liked storytelling last night, please come and try another event. They're so different it's like re-discovering the art everytime you see it.

I loved it! I really enjoyed meeting Kyle, Nancy, Casey, Pat and several other fabulous folks. The stories were wonderful. I am definitely excited about the Festival.

Kyle is mistaken; I'm obsessed with everything I like and hold dear, including my faith, my family, beads & making jewelry, Indiana artists, good music, spicy food (think: Tijuana Flats hot sauce bar), traveling.... I also love meeting exciting people. When are the 4000, 5000, 6000+ parties? That's what I want to know. I might even cook some greens and bring them!

i had a great time at the party. caught up with some old friends who were new friends not that long ago, made some new friends who will hopefully be old friends pretty soon, (loved the jewelry, onye! how do you work that small?!) and heard some great stories. i especially enjoyed debra assante's fable about values. we also got the chance to lay some ground work that may help out some friends in the theatre and art communities. all in all, i had me a right fine time. and the beer was pretty good, too. bring on the greens!

sorry you couldn't make it, cissy and rae. seeya at the next one. or oct. 3 for the next first friday at the garage.

Answer: very carefully (insert cymbal crash for bad joke)
Seriously: I'm in love with things that are infinitesimally small. The size 15/0 seed beads are the smallest I can use without damaging my eyes (or wrists) further. I know another bead artist (Tanya Tegemyer-Rodriquez ) that uses 22/0s. You (or Nancy) might know her husband Arturo. He's a very talented metalsmith.

This was the first member celebration party I've attended and I had such a good time! It's always fun to connect in person with other SI'ers. And I loved listening to storytellers Deborah Asante and Bob Sander. In fact, I just ordered advance tix to the Hoosier Storytelling Festival. Thanks to Ellen Munds and Pat Coyle for bringing us all together. :-)

I'm on board for the 4,000+ party!

Last night was really cool. You always see all these faces on the left sidebar when you come to the site, and events like these actually turn this faces into people. I had a great time. My thanks to whoever planned the event.

I always have a good time, and it makes me want to invite everyone i meet to join, so SI 4,000 comes sooner, rather than later.

The story telling was a terrific addition to the evening, and I hope anyone who missed will check out the festival October 8 - 11

Afterward, Andy and I met up with Matt Theobald and a friend of his for one more drink in the Beer Garden. Gordon Bonom was playing, and it just one more reason why I love Indy!

I am so sorry I missed it! I am new to the networking circuit and am trying to make it to everything that I can...I had three events yesterday! Seems like everything was happening yesterday! I definitely don't want to miss the next one! Anyone have any idea when that might be?

750 ish members to go... With any luck we will be there around the holidays.. Invite lots of friends to join SI and it will be sooner.

Hi, Pat. Thanks for posting the pics! Nice surprise to see me & Erin & Toni on the front page of SI today. The event was great. From the interesting people I got to meet/see for the first time (hi Onye hi Elsie! and thanks to you, Pat, for nabbing me on my way out in order to introduce me), and also now-familiar faces (too many to mention!). Loved the stories - they left me wishing I had won the tickets to the storytelling festival. Looking forward to the next SI event.

It's always fun to meet people for the first time that I've known for awhile.

Elsie is doing some cool stuff with IU Med and the Indiana University-Kenya Partnership. Unfortunately I didn't know her before the event but fortunately I got to meet her. This is what it's all about. So - - what can we do for your program, Elsie?

I thoroughly enjoyed myself as well. Looking forward to the next one!
