Smaller Indiana

Making people and ideas findable

I think it would be a great idea for everyone to introduce themselves. I'll start..

I'm fresh out of Graduate school where I earned my MBA at East Carolina University. Most of you probably haven't heard of ECU..it is down in Greenville, NC. I started working at SaucePan Creative 3 weeks ago (March 17) as the Marketing Strategy Chef..yup I said chef and not chief. We all have titles related to the kitchen. I don't actually do any cooking, we are a graphic design and end-to-end marketing solution firm. We can provide just about anything graphic and media related (logos, websites, brochures, business cards, anything print, video production, sound production, product photography, hosting, e-commerce solutions, and e-mail promotions). Outside of my career I enjoy wakeboarding and playing the drums. I was in a band in college and I am looking to form a band up here in Indy. (can anyone sing?) I'm a fan of just about every sport but soccer...just never could get into it. That about sums me up.

I hope everyone else will introduce themselves.

I entered into the telecom industry in 2003 as an independent agent selling AT&T services to businesses. I then moved to eGIX where I have been since 2004. Telecom is an industry that is rapidly changing. I enjoy and understand it. I have helped many companies over the years save money on their monthly bills. I also solve communication problems.

At eGIX I connect the mobile employee that is out of the office back to their counterparts in the office. I realize that every small business is different and they operate differently. I listen and create the communication system that works best for them, not what is best for their neighbor or for my company. I have discovered many companies enjoy working with a local company for service and like the personal touch they receive.

I have been a computer geek since my days in the Marine Corps, I have been I.S. Manager at Beck's Hybrids in Atlanta, IN (North Side of Hamilton County) since 1993.

However, my passion is in Strength Training & Oldetime Feats of Strength. My personal endeavor, Rulon Strength, is dedicated to helping people realize their strength potential through training and strongman performances.
I came to this site in hopes of networking, learning how to build my business & perhaps find some new clients.

After graduating from IU in '05 with a degree in Psychology, I moved to Carmel to work as a Workers' Compensation Case Manager at Liberty Mutual. I soon realized it was not a good fit and found myself at BitWise Solutions, a custom Web solutions firm. I've been working here as a Business Development Manager for nearly 2 years. BitWise has been partnering with clients to provide business solutions and measurable results via Web-based technology for 14 years. We provide a full range of Web services including strategy development and planning, Web Analytics, SEO, Web design, Web application development, hosting and maintenance, and pay-per-click advertising. My role is to find new business opportunities, find strategic partnerships within the technology industry, and work with my existing clients to understand their needs and constantly help them enhance their online presence.

Outside of work, I stay pretty busy. My current activity list includes Zumba, playing in a dodgeball league, playing tennis whenever I can find a partner (or 3 people, I love doubles), volunteering, trying to keep up with my reading...not enough hours in the day.

Hello all. Mike Sauce. Founder of SaucePan Creative, a small but soon to be "boiling" creative services agency. I guess that makes me the Head Media Chef... At any rate, I've lived in Indianapolis (mostly hamilton county) all my life and I have been working in marketing and multi-media for the last 12 years. I'm a product of Ball State's Telecommunications / Corporate Media program with a little background from IU's Herron School of Fine Art. SaucePan Creative is my second startup company, the first being the Horizon Interactive Awards competition, an international competition for designers and developers of interactive multi-meida. Currently in its 7th year, the 2008 competition saw over 1000 entries from 26 different countries around the world. Learn more about the competition at: www.horizoninteractiveawards.com. I'm looking forward to meeting everyone and networking common business interests.

After graduating from Huntington University in '02 with a degree in Business Management, I moved to Fort Wayne where I have spent the last five plus years developing various business skills. Recently, I found myself with the opportunity to join Midwest Marketing Solutions. We offer our clients a dynamic form of advertising that provides a new marketing avenue, increases traffic to the business, and improves the overall effectiveness of advertising over traditional forms.

Outside of work, I stay pretty busy as well. I enjoy any type of sports (both playing and watching), reading, networking, and enjoying time spent with family and friends. Over the next 4-5 months, moving we be included in that “free time.”

Hello, everyone. I'm from Brown County however moved north just after high school. I currently work for NorthShore Mortgage and have two years experience helping people obtain the best financing terms available. I'm new to the smaller Indiana site but have enjoyed the format. Networking is a skill and one which I need some improvement. I also belong to a Business Networking group which meets once a week in order to refer business to each member as the opportunity arises.
In my free time I enjoy golf, driving around weekends in my convertible and cooking. I look forward to meeting the group and feel free to email anytime.

I graduated with a degree in English from Ball State in December 2006 and work now as a freelance writer and editor. Basically, if it needs written, I can write it, but I focus especially on ad copy. My background is in editing, which I also enjoy. I am new to Smaller Indiana but I think that it is a wonderful way for creative professionals in Indiana to connect. I am excited to get more involved.

Oh, and I live in Fishers. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my hubby and being outdoors.

Good idea...I became the owner of an outpatient physical therapy practice about a year ago. I will receive my MBA from Butler University in 2 wks. I moved to Indy from St. Louis when I finished my first degree 10 yrs ago and love it here. I am also a big sports fan, still a die-hard STL Cardinals baseball fan, (married to a Cubs fan) and loyal to the Colts and Butler Bulldogs. I live in the BroadRipple area and just joined Smaller Indiana yesterday and look forward to making many new connections through this site.

Hello everyone! My name is Erin Campbell and I am from Anderson. I am currently working in the mortgage industry part- time as a mortgage broker since my previous company dealt in the (GASP) subprime market and has since closed. I am a mother of two very wonderful. very active boys and enjoy spending time watching them grow up and being with them during all of their activities. I also own my own business called GMACK Graphics and we have been operating for nearly 5 years now. We are a small company that provides vinyl graphics and custom printwear for business or personal use. We cater mainly to other small businesses and our "niche" in the industry is that we do not require a minimum order for apparel and we try to work within the budget of smaller companies to ensure thier needs are met. In my "spare" time I love to take photos and scrapbook, I am a bowler, I love a good game of poker or a night at the races (horses, cars... whatever), and I'm a very active cheerleader for my boys.

I look forward to meeting and networking with new people because I think everyone has thier own "great" ideas to share, and besides that.... I'm addicted to socializing. Feel free to email anytime!

I am a 2005 graduate of Indiana University and now live on the Northwest side. I am the Marketing and Merchandise Manager at the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra where my projects include marketing AT&T Happy Hour at the Symphony to the masses and managing, purchasing merchandise for and marketing The Symphony Store. I joined Smaller Indiana last week after partnering with the site to promote Happy Hour. We have another one coming up on June 19th, so if you want more info just send me a message.

Outside of work, I volunteer as a personal shopper at Dress For Success. If you haven't heard of it, Google it...it's an amazing organization. My personal interests include fashion, dogs, becoming a sushi connoisseur, world cultures, learning how to live a more "green" lifestyle, and learning Bulgarian (my boyfriend is from Bulgaria). I love networking and meeting new people, so I am looking forward to all that Smaller Indiana has to offer.

Hi everyone,
I have been online looking a different networking groups and I noticed a set of groups associated with BNI and one of those is named North Indy. Then I found this. Is this group a part of BNI? Just wondering… It looks like an intriguing networking group. I had actually joined smaller Indiana before I was googling networking groups. So this looked like an interesting fit….
Anyway, I am a psychologist-coach. What is that? We can talk about it at a meeting. My BA in Psychology is from Notre Dame. I went to Harvard for a Masters in Counseling and Consulting Psychology. Then I went to DePaul University for a doctorate in clinical child psychology (1996). I am a Carmel High School graduate.
My purpose in life is helping people excel and improve their professional and personal lives and that of their family & helping my own family do the same. All our sons (ages 13, 10 and 7) are uniquely talented, challenging and fun. My wife is also an unusually talented neuro-radiologist and ballroom dancer – long story... Our sons all have Persian middle names and American first names...Interesting story behind that…My wife is Persian…very long story about our courtship… My passion is for sports and obviously being a Notre Dame grad: ND football. But I played basketball, football and ran track at CHS back in the day. My favorite sport is basketball. Our sons play various sports, but the only one all three play is soccer.
Thanks

I too am fresh out of graduate school where I earned my MA in Philanthropic Studies at IUPUI. My BA is in Philosophy. I toyed with the idea of attaining my Doctorate in Philology--the study of language--but there are no such programs offered in Central Indiana. Nietzshe focused on this discipline and, even though I am not a Nietzsche fan, I find word meaning fascinating. I would like to become proficient in digital languages that can provide global grassroots collaboration.

I joined this group, because I am a networker from way back. Since the mid 90's I have been participating in professional networking associations, benefitting greatly from the information shared and the friends gained. I soon will be working as a Viral Marketing Expert specializing in Brand Awarenes, Alignment and Advocacy. BAAAA : ) I look forward to contributing to this group and hope that my input may be of some value.
