Reconnecting with Dad - Face to Face at Last!

The phone rang at 10:00PM on Friday..."We're here!" We had all anticipated the call and immediately jumped in the car and drove over to the hotel where they were staying. As we approached the hotel parking lot we could see what we thought might be my dad and step-mother standing outsi… Continue

Reconnecting with Dad (Continued)

My new favorite book is The Shack by Paul Young. If you haven't read it I would highly recommend you pick it up. There's a part in the story where the main character, Mack, gets a glimpse of Heaven for just a short moment. Each person in Heaven is represented by a bright light and off in the distance one of the bright lights just can't stand still and is making quite a scene. That light is Mack's estranged father who couldn't contain his overwhelming desire to go running to his son and be reconc… Continue

Reconnecting with Dad

I didn't know him well. The only time I ever spent with my dad growing up was through the court ordered visitations. He would drive to our home to pick-up me and my sister and take us to a nearby park, and years later we would go to his home just outside of St. Louis. I have SOME good memories of that time with him. My dad and I would play alot of baseball in his backyard..."Homerun Derby" to be specific. We would each attempt to jack every pitch out into the cornfield that bordered his property… Continue

I almost went into Even Planning at IUPUI, but decided on Graphic Design. I did some even planning for Home Depot when I worked...not as big as what you are doing. The key is organization, I have found.

Scott,
I took a peek at our calendar and thus far it looks like the week of August 11th is pretty open for us, if you and Emily would like to make a time to get together. I'd LOVE to hear about her songwriting and Aaron was definitely excited to hear about your business!

Let me know!

Scott,

I don't actually have a "tour" list going yet. Nick and I have been playing together for over a year now, doing some recording etc and are just now lining up gigs...we do have one upcoming on Saturday afternoon at a benefit for finding the cure for juvenile diabetes. Aside from that, I'll keep you posted and once I get enough going to justify a calendar, I'll pass along a link to that!

I'd be excited to hear more about what you're doing - Aaron (My business partner and boyfriend) and I are absolutely fanatical about talking to other entrepreneurs, and hearing their stories, and about their businesses!
