Who is that masked Smoosier?

I signed on to SI this morning and noticed that of the 10 members highlighted in the "Members" column on the homepage, 6 were faceless blobs. What happened to the requirement that you can't join w/o revealing who you are by way of pic and first and last name? One of the things that I like about SI is that it's based on authentic exchange of ideas from real people who are taking ownership of their contributions by tying those contributions to their identities -- names and faces. What the cell?!

Twice this week, I witnessed incidents involving cell phones that left me quite judgemental of the parties involved. The first was at the neighborhood pool. A mother arrived with her two daughters, the oldest of whom is going into the 6th grade. There was nothing remarkable about the situation, though I did notice that while the girls were swimming, the mom went off into the corner with her cell phone and had a lengthy conversation.
